The Rebels have never played the Brumbies before but there will be some familiarity as captain Stirling Mortlock ,Mark Gerrard, Julian Huxley, Nic Henderson and Afusipa Taumoepeau are all former Brumbies stars.
A third of the Rebels team has played for the Brumbies and Brumbies captain Matt Giteau is expecting his former Canberra team-mates to hold nothing back.
Last week the Rebels started well but as the match wore on their attack was stifled and their defence slipped. By full time the Waratahs had run in seven tries. They overcomitted players to the breakdowns which opened holes for the Waratahs.
Coach Rod Macqueen wanted his players to be competitive but this week he will probably be happy to see his team scoring their first points of the tournament.
The Rebels have been hit by injury and James Hilgendorf has been ruled out and replaced in the starting line up by Danny Cipriani who hopefully will not be distracted by him hitting the headlines for a late night incident at a night club involving alcohol after the Rebels loss.
The Brumbies meanwhile have named an unchanged team to the one that beat the Chiefs in Canberra. The Brumbies pack last week was impressive and Rebels Gareth Delve and Michael Lipman will have their work cut out for them.
The Brumbies will have to watch they way they fade in the middle of matches and need to keep up their intensity before securing the bonus point.
The Brumbies win 47 per cent of their matches away from home against Australian opposition. They have played 19 and lost 10. In their last five matches against Australian teams anywhere they have lost just one.
The Bookies have given the Rebels a 13.5 point start which says they feel the Brumbies will win by 14 points and have an offer of Bet £ 10 and get £ 20 in bets.
The Rebels lost 0-43 last weekend so if they could get some points and cut the deficit by half the result would be a good one. We are predicting the Brumbies to win by 21.
Brumbies overall record against Australian teams away from home.
